Huskies Battle the Rangers and Win

The Lady Huskies won a great game tonight over the Rangers of Mountain Iron-Buhl with a score of 65-57. It was an intense game with a large crowd that added even more to the atmosphere. Lots of Huskie fans made the long trip from Bigfork to support the girls and it was great to see...the girls needed their cheers and applause tonight!

Adrianna had another big night with four three's and 26 points and Annalise chipped in with 21, hitting two back to back three's at a crucial time in the game that gave the girls a spark to start the second half. It was nice to see her step up and score when needed...it comes so easily for her too!

Shelby ended up with 10 and Megan with 8 tonight. The one picture of the girls of both teams and the ref standing were during the technical while Shelby was shooting the two free throws.

Congrats girls and way to secure your spot as #1 seed! Now it's time to get ready for tournament games...the girls will have a bye and will play their first game next Thursday, 3/5/09 at 7:45 pm. They will end up playing the winner of the #8 and #9 seed. I don't know who those teams are yet but I have an idea...we will know more after the seed meeting on Saturday.

as the Aunt/Godmother of Adrianna and a long time fan of these girls, i was thrilled to watch the game tonight and see how these girls stepped up and played like champions! by champions, i don't mean a perfect game. we had some mistakes. but a champion plays her heart out and makes it count when she has to!! this is exactly what these girls did! they knew what needed to be done and they did it! i sit in the stands game after game and it never ceases to amaze me at how phenominal these girls are! i know they want to go to state so badly, but i am here to say.... win or lose, state or no state- these girls have proven what champions really are! they step out on that court with a fire in their eyes and a hunger in their soul everytime! they are gracious about winning or losing and they are humble when a fan tells them how great they did! they act like "ladies" everyday, on and off the court! i am proud to be a Bigfork Huskies fan and these ladies are the main reason for that! not because of their record, but because of who they are and what they represent to my own daughter.... a "teeney-tiny" lady huskie on c-squad who looks up to these girls for guidance and support! and she has a heck of a group of role models!! not many young girls have this kind of older role model group to look up to! so thank you lady huskies for being true CHAMPIONS on and off the court! Thank You for being the kind of young ladies that i am PROUD to have my daughter looking up to! we love you and will be there every step of the way, cheering until we can't talk! GO HUSKIES!GO HUSKIES! GO HUSKIES! GO! :)mel:)

You couldn't have put it any better as to the role models these girls are and how they play their hearts out...AND they are so composed and gracious in everything they do...I'm very proud of them and it is nice to hear others that see the same thing! Thank you for posting a comment! I wish more people would...

I love the picture of Lise and Shelby laughing it up at the beginning of the game. It was a pivotal moment in their season and yet they still found time to just be silly with each other! And i also love the one of Andi and Megan hugging at the end of the game! These pics show why these ladies are so successful in what they do! They work hard together, they laugh together and they know the meaning of "a team effort"... again, what role models these girls are! :)

That is why I put both of those pictures up...because it shows how relaxed they were before the game and just how close these girls are...it makes a difference. They have all been through so much together and this has already been a "special" season, no matter what the outcome!
