Time for a New Poem

The well was dry for a couple of weeks and since I had this one partially started before the first game got cancelled, I thought I would pick up where I left off....so here is the newest poem in honor of our rivals down the road.

And So It Begins....

Well it’s that time of year for the rivalry to begin,
Just hope Old Man Winter doesn’t cancel us again.
The Lady Warriors are 10 and 2 at mid-season,
While the Lady Huskies are sitting pretty at 15 and 1.
The records never matter as they battle on the court,
Both teams are determined to play hard from the start.
This little rivalry has grown over the last few years,
From many young tournaments, and many shed tears.
Lots of noise and excitement will fill the air,
And I hope that very few bleachers will be bare!
Both wear Blue & Gold and wear them proud,
They’ll for sure put on a show for a very large crowd!
They have Peterson twins which are pretty feisty,
But they will have to deal with our speedy Lisee.
Those Lady Warriors are fast and will try to pass a no looker,
But our Lady Huskies will turn on that famous pressure cooker!
Their little point guard can shoot a pretty rainbow,
But she’ll have to get out of our trap to let even one go.
So the Lady Huskies decided to have a little "board" meeting,
And laid out the plans to do some fierce double teaming.
It’s expected that Coach Marleau will get mighty upset,
And some of us might just put money on that bet!
This is this first of two rounds with the Warriors,
And both games are just as important as any of the others.
I can see determination on all of our ladies’ faces,
As they take team by team, and put them in their places.
There is such a strong desire and the will to win it all,
So those Lady Warriors had better be on the ball.
I’m sure there will be a few tiffs on the floor,
But whoever plays the hardest will have the best score.
We have won the Conference two years in a row,
And have no plans of letting that precious trophy go!
So come out and watch these two teams battle again,
You don’t want to miss it, so go change those plans!
