GIDDY UP LITTLE DOGGIES!

This poem was fun to do because I love cowboy/western stuff and when it clicked that they were the Mustangs...it was on! My head was spinning with ideas and western terms and nicknames and this is what I ended up with...also a side note: Shelby actually attended school at Northome from first through third grade so three of the girls on the Kelliher-Northome team were her schoolmates and friends when she was little. So it's kind of a friendly rivalry and AGAIN I certainly do not mean to offend anyone! (Their coach's name is spelled Lundin but sounds like Lundeen)

GIDDY UP LITTLE DOGGIES!

The Lady Mustangs soon will be trottin’ to our town,
But this is Huskie territory and they will go down!
The fans are ready for a shootout at the Huskie Corral,
And who does it better? Yep, our sharp shootin’ gals!
Sundance Shelby and her sidekick Cassidy Klamm,
Are ready to run circles round their little stampede plans!
Any promenades in the paint won’t be pretty,
Cuz’ our own Outlaw Andi is just dog gone gritty!
We’ll lasso those Stangs and brand them with a BIG PAW,
While The Wild Bunch on the bench hollers out, YEE HAW!
Points will be slim pickin’s for those Kelliher fillies,
Because they won’t get past our pretty lil' deputies.
It will be the last shootout for Shelby to prove,
What a hustler they lost out on when she made the move.
Our Boot Scootin' Stewarts have their silver spurs on,
And are chomping at the bit to get this game goin!
Our Wild Maverick Meggie is ready for a duel,
She has her hand on the trigger and she won’t be fooled!
Another new coach and his name is Lundeen,
He’ll be shaking his head saying “Enough of this scene!”
He’ll pace back and forth, then finally give up,
Not a thing he can do will get them out of this rut!
He looks at his pardners and then down his bench,
The girls riding the pine can’t fix his quench.
Diablo Danielle and Pistol Packin’ Prather,
Are fast and strong, and are tearin’ up the leather.
Soon Cisco Kid Carolyn will be back in the saddle,
She’s anxious and ready to get back into battle.
Waiting for her turn to run out of the gate,
Is our own dark haired pony, Cadillac Kate.
There are some new cowgirls tearing up this frontier,
They’ve surely got everyone a talkin’ round here!
Saddle up those bleachers and grab your bandana,
Cuz’ you’ll think you’re at a rodeo in wild Montana!
So round up your pardners and Do Si Do,
These Huskie cowgirls will have everyone screaming loco!
Boy Howdy, these girls are quite the hoot,
Those poor little Mustangs were not ready for the boot!

We just can’t wait for your next Rodeo!
