Huskies 67, Eagles 32

The girls defeated the Northland Lady Eagles for the second time this year with the score at the half being 35-14 and the final score 67-32. The girls came out fast and put points on the board just as fast, with an early lead of 23-1. They never looked back...the picture of Lise with her pony tail flying and the face of determination is one of my favorites. She has been playing this "determined" all season and it's fun to get a picture that shows what I'm talking about. Shelby started the game off hitting two three's in a row but got alot of help from her teammates with good passing so she could get the fast break points. Where one or two girls end up in double figures the others end up in double figures in assists, rebounds and steals. They are a well balanced team that is for sure!
If anyone hasn't yet come out to watch them play, please do as the regular season is on the back end of the schedule with 8 regular games left before tournaments begin. Please come out and fill the stands and cheer for these hard-working athletes. They are now 15-1 and are set to play bigtime rival Deer River on Monday, 2/2/09, in a makeup game. We need lots of loud cheering fans for this one!

Here is a link to the article in the Mesabi Daily News. It is after the game summary on MIB who beat Ely tonight.
