Gopher Time

IT'S GOPHER TIME!!

Well it’s time to travel up North to Gopher land,
So our fierce Lady Huskies can take a big stand.
They dread that long bus ride on a frigid cold night,
But can’t wait to get back on the court for a good fight!
Fresh off a GREAT holiday tourney performance,
They showed their stuff to all that were in attendance.
Blowing away rival Nashwauk was fun to see,
And it kept their fans quiet, which is quite the rarity!
Then onto the toughest draw of the bracket,
Cambridge-Isanti and the mighty Bluejackets.
They had a DEEP bench and fresh legs galore,
But the Lady Huskies still found the back door.
Back and forth it went, with tie after tie,
But our Blue & Gold would not lay down and die.
They fought so hard till the very end,
But a mere four points was what did them in.
They left the hardwood floor and did not shed a tear,
Because they all knew they had nothing to fear!
Next were the Ely Wolves to claim their third place,
Everyone knew who would win that race.
So now it’s time to “cook” those little Gophers,
And show that crowd what they are all in fer.
Youngstrom and Pohto are about all they’ve got,
And they won’t be able to stop Lady Huskies that are hot!
Jason and Bim will be broadcasting their first time this year,
So family and fans tune in to KMFY and cheer!
A new coach they have, and she’ll be wiping her brow,
And wondering what in the heck she’s in for now!
She’ll be wowed and amazed, as will the crowd,
Because our Huskie fans will be mighty and loud!
We’ll cheer our hearts out for all to hear,
Because we all know that this is THEIR YEAR!
