Bigfork v Nashwauk - Round Two Goes to Lady Huskies

The Lady Huskies were really cold the first half and ended up being down by one point at the half, 31-30. That gym has the most rigid hoops than any gym that the girls play in and it seems every year they struggle with their shots there. They did come out the second half and went on a run that the Spartans could not catch up with...they did keep hitting some key shots that kept them in the game for a while, but the Lady Huskies kept their composure and the shots starting falling with Shelby hitting three 3's in a row and Adrianna also hitting two more three's in that half (she had two in the first half). The final score was 69-50.

Shelby ended up the night with 22 points and Adrianna with 18, Lise and Theresa both had 7, Megan had 6, Robin 4, Brittney hit a 3 at just the right time in the first half, and Carolyn ended up with 2. Carolyn just came back after being out for three weeks with mono. We are glad to have her back!

MIB coaches and a few players were in attendance and I'm sure taking a few notes. It was a good game and one that the girls needed after a week long break. They sure have a knack for staying calm and getting the job done under pressure. They just don't give up....this was a big conference win for the girls as they are so far undefeated in the Northern Lakes Conference and Nashwauk is running second right now.

They travel to Blackduck this Thursday to play the Lady Drakes who have a record of 6-6 so they have improved from last year. Last year when we played them they hadn't won a single game. Shelby has many friends there and some family also in Blackduck and it's close to home for us, so there should be a nice crowd there also.

I will try and post a few pictures tomorrow. I did not take very many tonight though as the lighting isn't very good in that gym and I got a little frustrated with it so gave up and just enjoyed the game!

It would be considered mid-season now for their regular scheduled games (24) and their record is 11-1. Congratulations girls!
