The Lady Huskies take another win against the Lady Braves from Orr in a makeup game that was rescheduled from December 15th. The score at the half was 51-13 and the final score was 80-39. The starters did not play much of the second half and unfortunately the bench allowed their senior #31 to hit 3 or 4 three pointers in that period. Coach Powell is a polite winner and does not allow the starters to push the score up as they have had many chances this year to hit the century mark. I personally would like to see it happen once, and maybe that is selfish, but they work hard on defense and offense and it is frustrating to see the other team rack 10-15 points when the starters are out. It actually drives me nuts! Sorry Coach...
Anyway, there were three girls in double figures tonight, Shelby with 25, Megan with 24 and Adrianna with 17, Lise got her 8 in the first 5 minutes of the second half, Theresa with 2 and Robin with 4. I think Lise is saving herself for tournaments because she got those 8 points right away like it was nothing! She is amazing...
Orr has a freshman that is doing very well and could really dominate in the next few years. We thought they should have given her a couple more fouls than she had, but she is going to be a very good player!
Congrats to the girls once again and on Monday we have to travel to BABBITT....I really dread that drive home...it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO far!
I hear that Shelby's future team, the Itasca Lady Vikings, defeated Mesabi Range College today in a big conference game by 10 points....it will be interesting to see how things pan out this year for them.
