The Lady Huskies put another W in the win column by defeating the Blackduck Drakes last night on their home court. It was an odd game from the start. We had one of our "favorite" refs (and I'm kidding when I say that...) so that made the game even more interesting. I kept thinking to myself, "what in the world is he doing all the way over here in Blackduck?". One of those "ugh" moments.
From the get go every little bump, touch, just ANYTHING was called and of course we ended up in foul trouble, three starters and the two off the bench were in foul trouble so that shook the girls up a little and they just couldn't get their game to run very smooth for some reason. Maybe that would be the reason? And I know you can't blame a bad game on reffing and there is really no point in arguing with them because they are not going to change their call, but still....did I say "UGH"?
For the first time EVER since I have watched numerous high school boys and girls basketball game, have the officials given the ball to the other team after a timeout, BEFORE the other team came back on the court! And you KNOW that other team was our Lady Huskies! So there goes Blackduck racing down the court with not one Huskie on the floor! Luckily they didn't get a point off of it or I think our fans and Greg would have all gotten a technical on that one! And about FOUR times their calls were totally opposite from each other and of course we were on the losing end 3 out of 4 of those...the whole night was just downright odd.
I have to give credit to Blackduck for a major improvement in their team since last year though. They passed the ball very well and played a nice game against our girls.
The score at the half was 25-17, Bigfork, and the final score was 60-47. There were actually three girls in double figures last night being Shelby with 18, Lise with 12 and Theresa with 14. Adrianna and Megan were almost there with 8 each.
The girls' next game is a makeup game against Orr this Saturday at 6:30 pm. The JV team will play at 5:00.
Congratulations on another win last night girls!
