MIB Undefeated No More

The Mountain Iron-Buhl girls' team suffered their first loss of the season to Cook County (9-3 after MIB game) on Saturday afternoon. There is an article in the Mesabi Daily News about the game if anyone wants to check it out. MIB was trailing at the half 38-21 and missed 16 of 30 free throws! I bet they wished they had some of those freebie chances back.....I'm sure they will be working on free throws in practice! The article also said they had three girls foul out: Vanessa Aultman (no points), Charlotee Overbye (19) and McKenzie Overbye (11). The MIB boys also lost in the double header.

Nashwauk was set to play a tough Sebeka team yesterday also but it looks like it might have been rescheduled for January 24th. Sebeka is #1 right now in their half of Section 5A with a record of 11-2 and Barnum is #1 in the other half of that Section and undefeated with a record of 11-0.

Bigfork is set to play at Nashwauk tomorrow and it will be broadcast on 96.9 KMFY if anyone can't make it to the game. Hopefully we will have a good crowd from Bigfork to cheer on the girls.
