Last night I went to the Section 7A Championship volleyball game pitting Littlefork-Big Falls against Cook, whom we lost to in the semi-final match. It was bittersweet watching this match and knowing that our girls should have been playing on that court and watching our friendly rivals, Littlefork, take the trophy home again and go to the Big Dance at the Xcel two years in a row....
We were pretty sure going in that LFBF would take it and they did. They survived a close 4th match, but pulled it out when it counted. We hope they do well next week at State!
The next match was Virginia against Pine-River Backus. Virginia lost their bid to the State Tournament last year against this same team, but came out last night and took it pretty easily. They are fun teams to watch and we were happy to see Virginia move on. One of the girls on the Virginia team went to volleyball camp this past July with our girls, so they were rooting for her. She had a good night. We also really enjoyed Virginia's band....they were wonderful!
Only one of our girls and her mom came to watch the 7A match as they were still too upset from our loss to Cook. We are already talking about next year and what we need to work on and who can fill the three spots that the seniors will be leaving...it will be tough, but we have some very committed girls waiting for their chance. It will be another good year for volleyball in Bigfork next year!
