Huskies take the Sting out of the Hornets

Another conference win for the Lady Huskies beating Hill City 34-16 at the half and the final score being 77-33. Three were in double digits with Jenna and Shelby both ending up with 18 and Annalise with 12. Adrianna, Megan, Rachel, Teresa and Carolyn also on the scoreboard. The girls are now 19-2, #14 on the QRF and have still not broken back into the Top 10 for Class A yet! Don't get that one! Wrenshall was beaten this week by Barnum so their record also stands at 19-2 and they are number 1 seed right now in the other half of Section 7A while Bigfork is the number 1 seed right now in their half of Section 7A. Looks like both teams will end up being the number 1 seed which should have them battling in the end to get to the State tournament. Barring no surprise upsets on either end of tournament play and no one gets hurt!

Shelby rolled her weak ankle in the second half and watched the game on the sidelines while icing her ankle. We took her to the ER to have it x-rayed just to be safe and it showed that nothing was broken. It actually did not swell much either. She's been icing it and taking Tylenol for the pain and was able to walk on it without much of a limp by Friday afternoon. Yeah! Missed practice but should be able to play on Monday.

The girls will take on the Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans in a game that could decide the Northern Lakes Conference Champions. It should be a good game although it seems everytime we play there they have an invisible cover on our basket! A deceiving gym where one end has a wall close to the basket and the other end is open.

The girls have beat them twice this year so they are confident they will do it again! Good luck girls!
